SWIFT- Performing Acts: Fairy tale

The first fairy tale with a twist was a take on the golden goose, I had never heard of this fairy tale before, so I didn't know the story but i thought they got it across effectively. But I didn't think it had the flare of the second and third. As far as I know the only twist was a golden scarf instead of a golden goose.

The second was a court case with Hansel and Gretel, charging the witch for child abuse this was my favorite. It was very funny and I couldn't stop myself laughing when hansel and gretel  were portrayed as chavs. However they didn't get the whole plot into the scene, and you would have to know the story.

The third was a take on cinderella, and had more chavs in it and no fairy godmother.

Overall this performance was better then there first, they made me laugh alot.

Analizing music vidoes

Green Day: Boulevard Of Broken Dreams

The setting is a deserted American desert town which works well as the song is about being lonely. They are wearing fashionable clothes as to get viewers. The whole video basically is just green day walking down a lane and singing with very plain expressions with some shots of then playing instruments thrown in. Only the non diegetic sound of the song is heard. There is a mixture of high key and low key lighting. There is a strange range of composition and angles in the video, it flickers between them, you see the long shot, the mid shot, the close up, and the extreme close up jumbled up with aim to confuse. The clip has a quick pace. The cutting  rate is mixed up and varied throughout the video.
There is a video effect making the clips look old and faded and it flickers. This is one of my favorite music videos and is very enjoyable.

The Beatles: Help!

The music video is in a plain white room, the band is in the middle of the room, and the video is just different angles of the band playing the music. Its very plain unlike most new music videos, and its in black and white. They are wearing pack turtle neck sweaters. It is mainly high key lighting. There is a  mixture of camera angles. The cutting rate is slower than on modern music videos. The tune is very catchy and though there is many differences between this and the newer one I enjoy both.

Monologues Review

I didn't expect much since it was their first monologue at college the nerves would get to them , and they did, however considering the circumstances quite well:

The first one was normal, the tone was varied, and it was by only a small stretch of the imagination believable.

The second one was good and interesting, much like the first and she remembered her lines, and it was believable.

The third one was believable and she displayed a wide range of emotions.

The fourth was equally believable and very interesting.

The fifth was a bit too quick and she needed to slow down a bit. It had a few stumbles also.

The seventh had a few stumbles but overall displayed a wide range of emotions.

Overall I quite enjoyed the monologues, and they were impressive.
